“Rift” | Acrylic on wood | 36″ x 80″ | $1195 | I am beginning to understand why I paint, and why I paint so uncontrolled. I really never know how a painting is going to end up until I see it. But after hearing a number of people trying to explain the painting “Underneath” I realized that I don’t want to control my paintings. As a full time art director I work everyday to control with extreme detail every project that I dive into. I want to make sure that a printed piece, matches the website that I am designing for, and that they in turn match the interior space of the company I am designing for and so on….”complete control vs. complete disorder”. In a painting I have no desire to represent that which has already been photographed, painted, etc…I want to create something completely new and never seen before. I usually start with an idea and work toward it…but that is all it is, an idea that will eventually turn into a “Rift” of light…shooting through the night sky…or maybe it’s something else. you decide and let me know…I love to hear the different opinions.

That is a great painting. Really like the color scheme.
