The project was to create a piece of art that would serve as the introduction to the new Blood Donation Center in Greenville, SC on Woodruff road. This theme is continued throughout the rest of the interior with tree used to convey the message “We naturally connect lives”.

Each Year The Blood Connection in conjunction with Rock 101 and New Rock 93.3 holds a joint blood drive that the radio stations really promote because they can run the drive as they want and part of that is designing a tshirt and posters around the whole drive. Each year I get asked to come up with an illustration that will pull it all together. This year I incorporated the wings with a “Blood Drop” Guitar emblazoned with a Jimi Hendrix  image. I did not create all of the graphics from scratch but pulled them together.

The Donor All Star Blood Drive illustration was created for a Blood Drive Campaign that is being held at the Greenville Drive Baseball Complex at Fluor Field in Greenville, SC on June 09. My assignment was to create a look that was relevant to baseball, incorporate the Greenville Drive but make sure that the words “Blood Drive” would retain the focus.

I struggle with what is the “Focus” of this illustration but the client wanted all letters to be large enough to read, so this is the result. If you have any comments as to what could have been accomplished different let me know.

Client: Drum Creative for Greenville County Recreation District | Vector Illustration

Greenville Rec approached us to help them brand the Pavilion Ice Skating Rink in Taylors, SC.  There primary goal was to have an icon that was family friendly and fun. They were already using a penguin (Petee) as a mascot. This illustration of the Penguin was a perfect match for them. I was then assigned the task of creating minor logos for each of the other sports that are offered at the Pavilion Recreation Complex. Each of these illustrations were hand drawn by myself over a total period of about 16 hours.

My wife, Jodee has been baking bread using a recipe that was handed down from her mother and it is absolutely wonderful. In fact it is so good, that we are working on a website to begin selling it. This logo uses a icon in the shape of a house or slice of bread to evoke that homemade goodness of bread your grandma use to make.

Drum Creative asked me to illustrate a t-shirt design for Freedom Weekend Aloft Blood Donors. The Blood Connection is a major sponsor of Freedom Weekend Aloft and have their Blood Donation Buses on hand to receive blood donations. Since the movie UP also came out the same weekend I thought it might be appropriate to try and tie the two together using B+ The Blood Connection mascot representing The Boy Scout.
